Giving

Why give?

We give our first fruits out of thanks.

Giving is an act of thankfulness. We know everything we have belongs first and foremost to God. Health, wealth, and life are all given by God. We give back to show gratitude.

When we give from the heart, we’re also showing our faith in our Father as a provider. We give knowing God always provides and blesses.

God has also shown us the right way to give. He shows that it’s done by setting apart our tithe of our first fruits, the first and best of what we have. It’s best shown in Deuteronomy 14:22-29

22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year(….)23…so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always(…)29… and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

Where does that Go?

Making God known and blessing the community.

God commands us to tithe and use that to bless

Levites -priests- (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied - Deuteronomy 14:29
